Paris

We went out with Jackie and Momo to a cafe and then to Chez Michel for dinner.

I was still full from my 5 lamb chops at lunch. I just didn’t feel I could waste them!. They were fabulous but I was very full.  Dinner was a set menu. I nibbled at the entre and main and had basque cheese cake for breakfast this morning. Perfect! It was the most delicious cheesecake I have ever had. I will return there before leaving Paris. (Hmmm… just re reading this from Sydney and can say that ah…events …made this not possible)

Our waiter kindly agreed to take a group photo for us and waited while we checked them:

🤣I don’t think that is the first time he has played that trick!  😂 The walk home after dinner was a lovely way to end the day.  Beautiful boulevards and buildings with their balconies. Soft lights.

The following day was rainy and soft. I loved the day, perfect for our trip to the Petit Palais.  We wandered through the permanent collection of sculptures and beautiful paintings.  Dramatic and deep.  We then headed for the Sarah Bernhardt exposition temporaire ‘Et la femme créa la star’. Divine!  Here are some shots.

We had tickets booked for the opera house (Palais Garnier) in the morning. It was Tuesday 9 May and Mary was arriving late from Dublin. I’d be meeting her at the very end of the day at our ex-bordello Hotel Lafayette.

We walked following this guide book route and that and at some point Kath went one way and Elaine and I another before we met for dinner. Elaine was taken by this billboard - 😂

Dinner was delicious at Les Arlots restaurant.

had their specialty sausage with mashed potatoes, which is always a specially, isn’t it?

Home to receive Mary fresh from the airport for the next stage of this great holiday adventure…
