AZERBAIJAN - PARIS TRIP 9 SEPTEMBER - 11 OCTOBER 2024

 EPISODE 1 - The Back Story

A year or so ago I met Janet for a night out in Newtown. We roamed around various topics, updating each other on life since we had last spoken and eventually recommending particular streaming series we were sure the other would take to.  Well…what on earth would make Janet think I would have the slightest interest in motor sports?  So not me! Janet said something like “Helen, I’ve gone down the Netflix Formula 1: Drive to Survive vortex!”.  She is a bit sporty so it wasn’t so surprising really… but her urging me towards it, certainly was. Did I need to reintroduce myself her? 

However, being such a good friend, I did promised to watch three episodes and then call her to talk about it.

Many weeks later, I emerged from the vortex and am now winging my way to the Azerbaijan F1 Grand Prix.  Needless to say, Janet’s hunch was right, I LOVED the show. I am super excited about going to Baku! 

And so is my travel companion Therese, who is described as a real petrol head by her brother and my brother-in-law, Paul. She has had several F1 Grand Prix adventures!

Therese organised all the tickets involved in travelling overseas to the F1 and for our holiday in Paris thereafter. 

So that is the back story to this latest adventure… an adventure that started unbelievably well, and just when we were slapping each other on the back and celebrating, things have gone slightly…skew-whiff…
