Our stand was nowhere near the podium so we present this via a large screen. I took this picture from the shady park next to our stand because we rushed from our seats in the belting sun as soon as the chequered flag confirmed Oscar’s amazing win. How hard it must be for Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to start on pole and not win, once again. I think they said the count is 4 but now maybe 5. I think his obscene millions of dollars should comfort though.
It was fun to see 3rd place winner Mercedes George Russell do, as Therese said, a Bradbury!
Another observation made by Therese was about Lando Norris’ extraordinary performance. This track is incredibly difficult for overtaking, yet he moved into 4th position from 15th. Piastri overtaking Leclerc and even more incredibly holding him there was amazing, but Lando’s drive was even more so. In summary, McLaren have two great drivers.
